For many applications, control panels are exposed to harsh environments and exposure to liquid or solid contaminants that could cause failures of components or the entire system.
An industrial customer had such a situation and asked us to create a protective boot for switch panels. We tooled a unique insert mold that would incorporate the switch mounting nut and selected our gray silicone compound MR60-40-23 to match their operating environment. They have had no component failures due to contamination since we provided their solution.
