Warwick, NY: Mechanical Rubber has developed a flame resistant compound, MR35-70-46 that recently passed the Bombardier SMP 800-C Toxicity testing, certified by Exova Warringtonfire North America. A standard method used in the NFPA130, the SMP 800-C test analyzes toxic smoke gases produced when a test material is burned.

The compound also meets regulations for ASTM C1166 (flame propagation of elastomers), ASTM E162 (surface flammability of materials using a radiant heat energy source), ASTM E662 (specific optical density of smoke generated by solid materials), and ASTM E1354 (heat and visible smoke release rates for materials using an oxygen consumption calorimeter).
